Hi, welcome to Seeking History!

You may be wondering “what is this website?” Why else would you be on the “about” page? Seeking History “seeks” (had to) to provide well researched, with a sometimes humorous twist, biweekly articles on various topics from…you guessed it…History. Every two weeks a new article will be posted on various topics, some will obviously be linked together, some will be fully stand-alone one-off pieces. These articles will shed light on little known to extremely well-trodden topics ranging from ancient to near modern. This site will hopefully teach you something new, or if not, maybe drag that fact out of your brain that you didn’t even know you had forgotten. Enjoy, and if you have a topic you would love to see covered, don’t hesitate to suggest it! We really want to be that (hopefully not expired) steroid cream you have in your medicine cabinet for that [history] itch, that no matter how much you scratch, just won’t go away. We don’t want that itch to go away (then you wouldn’t come back), we just want to help soothe it from time to time.

The founder of this site has a B.A. in History from a non-descript public university on the east coast of the US. I do nothing with that history degree in my day job, so here I am, trying to do something with it. This, at least for now, is a passion project of mine. In the future, there will be contributing guest writers providing content that otherwise would be outside my interests or expertise, but are nonetheless important and should not be left untold.
